During the summer months there is a regular programme of entertainment in Ferragudo centre in the evenings and plenty of cafes and restaurants around the square to enjoy some refreshment at the same time!
Algarve Events February 2016
February is the time for one of the biggest events in the Algarve calendar, Carnaval! Marking the season of Lent, today we celebrate with parades, floats, costumes, music and dance right across the region! The oldest, biggest and most famous of our carnivals is in Loulé on the 6th, 7th and 9th February but wherever you are between 6-9th, you’re never far from the fun!
Carnaval is also celebrated with the biggest annual sailing event in Portugal, the 42nd International Carnival Sailing Tournament in Vilamoura, 6-8th February.
From 17th to 21st February sports fans can also enjoy stages of the 42nd Algarve Bicycle Tour “Volta ao Algarve” across the region. The race finishes with the legendary climb to Alto do Malhão in Loulé.
Also in February we’ve got the continuation of the 16th Festival of Al-Mutamid Music Festival. The festival remembers Al-Mutamid, the poet King, with performances 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th in Albufeira, Silves, Lagos, Lagoa and Loulé. This is one of many music and dance events in February, along with lots of exhibitions, theatre, markets, gastronomy and craft fairs.
For more about these events check out the Visit Algarve February Events 2016 brochure!
